Daddy's Gone

I haven't written in forever.  I have so much going on right now.  I am in school, working two jobs, a new grandmother, and my daddy is gone.  Is anyone playing the violins yet?  I sound like a broken record right?  Sound like I'm passing out invitations to a pity party.  Well I have got to tighten up.  My daddy told me that I need to pursue my dreams and goals to the end.  That means little girl, write your poems, write your songs, and write your books and find someone that wants to buy them.  I keep quitting because it's so frustrating.  I told daddy that I was going to do it, and I am.  I have got to focus and make it happen.  Before daddy died he wrote a song too, and I told him I would get it copy written and he said "I sure do appreciate that."  I need to figure out how to make it work.  How to put the effort and time needed into this gift that God has blessed me with.  Being a true woman of God is hard work because if you aren't careful you'll find that you have put all your carnal mess before God.  Daddy told me to make sure I put God first, and I know that's what I need to do.  It's just so hard making sure I do it with everything going on. (violins)  Well the Bible does say, and you all know it because anybody with a little bit of God knows... Matthew 6:33 reads Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.  Get it together Brenda, Get it together Brenda, Get it together Brenda.  Praise God, I am going to get it together, no matter how long it takes.  I'm going to trust God, and while trusting Him taking action toward the place He has for me.  Daddy's gone, but not forgotten.  I remember what he's taught me, and until I do what my father says, I won't do what my Father says.

God bless and I love ya,

I Don't Mind Waiting...On the Lord

I love this song by Juanita Bynum, and I sing it all the time.  To say I Don't Mind Waiting On the Lord is saying Lord I trust You.  I trust You so much that I'm going to be obedient and walk in Your true Word.  Oh how easy it is to sing the song, but to really mean it is another thing.  I don't mind waiting means I will wait for God to send me a husband and keep my body until due season.  I don't mind waiting means I trust that God is Jehovah Jira and that He is going to provide my every need.  I don't mind waiting means that even though things get a little rough on my job, at my church, in my home that I am going to stand, and after I've done all I can standing I'm gone still STAND.  I don't mind waiting means I'll wait Lord, and while I'm waiting I'll do what You have called me to do.  Isaiah 49:31 KJV:  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  This means that while I'm waiting my strength is renewed, I'm getting stronger, I'm gonna be able to reach new heights and be able to endure, I will run this race and not become tired, and I shall walk the good walk and not turn back.  Waiting can be scary, but move that flesh because it's a God thang.  I don't mind waiting, I don't mind waiting, I don't mind waiting, on the Lord.

Praise God

How Big Is Your God

After going through so many obstacles it seems that I would know how to maneuver without being stumped, AGAIN!  Do you ever feel this way?  If so, I challenge you to ask yourself the question I believe the Holy Spirit asked me, "How big is your God?"  The Bible reads in Luke 1:37 that nothing is impossible with God.  That means He can handle whatever comes His way.  How much God do you have in you?  As a Christian, I shouldn't keep making the same mistakes, I should learn from my mistakes and take a different road.  I should be able to go through the obstacles God's way and come out victorious.  So how do I get there and continue to move forward and not get stumped?  It's all in knowing how Big God really is.  It's one thing to say "oh I'm blessed and highly favored" but it's another to know I'm blessed and highly favored.  I know it because I spend time with God and I know His promises for my life. I know He won't put more on me than I can handle (we love to say this), but I know when I pick up more than I can handle I need to put it down.  I know the Bible says if I resist the devil he will flee (we love this too), but I also know that I must submit to God and resist the devil he will flee.  The devil ain't scared of us quoting the word, the power comes when we live the Word.  Acts 19:10-16 clearly shows that there's no power against the enemy when the Godly authority is exercised unworthy.  Some want the power and anointing for the wrong reasons.

Acts 19:10-16

New International Version
10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

Playing with God and they got a beat down, that's what jumped on them and overpowered them means.  Well let's learn who God is, so we will know that no matter how Big our problem is, God is WAY BIGGER.

An examination sometimes is painful....

But helpful.  2 Corinthians 13:5 says Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.  Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

It's a sad situation to fail an examination right?  If you are taking an examination, it's something that you need to exceed in.  Who wants to take a test and fail?  Who wants to go to the doctor and be examined only to find out bad results, to find out your health is failing.  Why go through the motions of being a Christian and end up in hell because your heart isn't pure.

By examining yourself, you find out what's wrong and if it's an early diagnosis during the examination you can correct some issues before they get out of hand.

By taking a pre-exam you learn that you need to study more before you take the final examination.  By going to the doctor and finding out what's wrong, you get treatment that could prevent any serious condition.  By examining your spiritual self, you learn that you are lukewarm and need to get delivered from some stuff.

So examine yourself to see if you pass the test, of having Jesus in you.

Amen!!!

Let the church say Amen!!!  That is all left for us to say to all of God's promises, Amen.  If we are living Holy according to the Word of God, it's Amen!!!  If we are living unholy according to the Word of God, it's Amen!!! God can not tell a lie and He will not be mocked.  So He will do just what He says He will do and His Word will not be found contrary to it's self.  A lot of times we wonder why we aren't blessed when we are doing all we can to live Holy, not remembering that we have cursed ourselves with our tongue by saying something contrary to the blessing.  Or we've cursed ourselves by not giving our tithes and offering faithfully.  Or we have some forgiveness that we are carrying around that we should have released to someone who wronged us.  Blessings and curses depend on us.  So let the church say Amen!!!  Believe God's Word, obey God's Word, and receive the blessings from God's Word.  No we won't get it right all the time, but His grace is sufficient and He is a forgiving God.  Amen!!!

Now He's a Young Man!!

This is my Handsome, and at some point in life you have to let those only begotten sons grow.  You teach them what thus says the Lord, and help them for a little while but then the Lord tells you "Now He's a Young Man" that doesn't mean stop praying and believing God for them but it's time that you stop getting uptight because he isn't doing things the way you want him to.  I have to believe that he understands that when he was a child it was okay to talk and think like a child and even understand as a child, but now he's a man he must put away childish ways. (1Cor. 13:11) You have done all that you can do as a single mother to raise him up, and he's going to make mistakes, but love him anyways.  You have trained him up in the way that he should go and it's in him.  So relax, and thank God that "Now He's a Young Man" because some didn't make it as far as he did.  Thank God for the things that he is not doing which makes him blessed, and thank God that you can pray about the things he is doing which brings the curse.  Pray that he remembers what he has been taught concerning all things.  Love you Handsome.

A Docile Spirit....

Can help you in life.  A teachable spirit is a humble spirit. 1 Pet 5:5>Young folks listen to old folks.  Be humble with each other, for God opposes the proud, the ones who won't listen to teaching but gives grace to the humble.  Prov. 12:1 Whoever loves to be taught is smart, he who hates being taught is stupid. This is the BYT version but look it up for yourself.

If you refuse to be taught, you are stupid, that's the Word people.  We often get advice (teaching) from someone who has been through what we are going through or something we may be about to go through.  But we don't listen if we don't have A Docile Spirit.  We think we know everything, can't nobody tell us nothing and then we do what we are advised not to do and look stupid.  Well guess what, because we hated instruction, we are stupid.

Let's listen to Godly instruction and learn from it so that we may be blessed from having a Docile Spirit and not a prideful one.
