Daddy's Gone

I haven't written in forever.  I have so much going on right now.  I am in school, working two jobs, a new grandmother, and my daddy is gone.  Is anyone playing the violins yet?  I sound like a broken record right?  Sound like I'm passing out invitations to a pity party.  Well I have got to tighten up.  My daddy told me that I need to pursue my dreams and goals to the end.  That means little girl, write your poems, write your songs, and write your books and find someone that wants to buy them.  I keep quitting because it's so frustrating.  I told daddy that I was going to do it, and I am.  I have got to focus and make it happen.  Before daddy died he wrote a song too, and I told him I would get it copy written and he said "I sure do appreciate that."  I need to figure out how to make it work.  How to put the effort and time needed into this gift that God has blessed me with.  Being a true woman of God is hard work because if you aren't careful you'll find that you have put all your carnal mess before God.  Daddy told me to make sure I put God first, and I know that's what I need to do.  It's just so hard making sure I do it with everything going on. (violins)  Well the Bible does say, and you all know it because anybody with a little bit of God knows... Matthew 6:33 reads Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.  Get it together Brenda, Get it together Brenda, Get it together Brenda.  Praise God, I am going to get it together, no matter how long it takes.  I'm going to trust God, and while trusting Him taking action toward the place He has for me.  Daddy's gone, but not forgotten.  I remember what he's taught me, and until I do what my father says, I won't do what my Father says.

God bless and I love ya,

I Don't Mind Waiting...On the Lord

I love this song by Juanita Bynum, and I sing it all the time.  To say I Don't Mind Waiting On the Lord is saying Lord I trust You.  I trust You so much that I'm going to be obedient and walk in Your true Word.  Oh how easy it is to sing the song, but to really mean it is another thing.  I don't mind waiting means I will wait for God to send me a husband and keep my body until due season.  I don't mind waiting means I trust that God is Jehovah Jira and that He is going to provide my every need.  I don't mind waiting means that even though things get a little rough on my job, at my church, in my home that I am going to stand, and after I've done all I can standing I'm gone still STAND.  I don't mind waiting means I'll wait Lord, and while I'm waiting I'll do what You have called me to do.  Isaiah 49:31 KJV:  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  This means that while I'm waiting my strength is renewed, I'm getting stronger, I'm gonna be able to reach new heights and be able to endure, I will run this race and not become tired, and I shall walk the good walk and not turn back.  Waiting can be scary, but move that flesh because it's a God thang.  I don't mind waiting, I don't mind waiting, I don't mind waiting, on the Lord.

Praise God

How Big Is Your God

After going through so many obstacles it seems that I would know how to maneuver without being stumped, AGAIN!  Do you ever feel this way?  If so, I challenge you to ask yourself the question I believe the Holy Spirit asked me, "How big is your God?"  The Bible reads in Luke 1:37 that nothing is impossible with God.  That means He can handle whatever comes His way.  How much God do you have in you?  As a Christian, I shouldn't keep making the same mistakes, I should learn from my mistakes and take a different road.  I should be able to go through the obstacles God's way and come out victorious.  So how do I get there and continue to move forward and not get stumped?  It's all in knowing how Big God really is.  It's one thing to say "oh I'm blessed and highly favored" but it's another to know I'm blessed and highly favored.  I know it because I spend time with God and I know His promises for my life. I know He won't put more on me than I can handle (we love to say this), but I know when I pick up more than I can handle I need to put it down.  I know the Bible says if I resist the devil he will flee (we love this too), but I also know that I must submit to God and resist the devil he will flee.  The devil ain't scared of us quoting the word, the power comes when we live the Word.  Acts 19:10-16 clearly shows that there's no power against the enemy when the Godly authority is exercised unworthy.  Some want the power and anointing for the wrong reasons.

Acts 19:10-16

New International Version
10 This went on for two years, so that all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
13 Some Jews who went around driving out evil spirits tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed. They would say, “In the name of the Jesus whom Paul preaches, I command you to come out.” 14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this. 15 One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” 16 Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding.

Playing with God and they got a beat down, that's what jumped on them and overpowered them means.  Well let's learn who God is, so we will know that no matter how Big our problem is, God is WAY BIGGER.

An examination sometimes is painful....

But helpful.  2 Corinthians 13:5 says Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.  Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you--unless, of course, you fail the test?

It's a sad situation to fail an examination right?  If you are taking an examination, it's something that you need to exceed in.  Who wants to take a test and fail?  Who wants to go to the doctor and be examined only to find out bad results, to find out your health is failing.  Why go through the motions of being a Christian and end up in hell because your heart isn't pure.

By examining yourself, you find out what's wrong and if it's an early diagnosis during the examination you can correct some issues before they get out of hand.

By taking a pre-exam you learn that you need to study more before you take the final examination.  By going to the doctor and finding out what's wrong, you get treatment that could prevent any serious condition.  By examining your spiritual self, you learn that you are lukewarm and need to get delivered from some stuff.

So examine yourself to see if you pass the test, of having Jesus in you.

Amen!!!

Let the church say Amen!!!  That is all left for us to say to all of God's promises, Amen.  If we are living Holy according to the Word of God, it's Amen!!!  If we are living unholy according to the Word of God, it's Amen!!! God can not tell a lie and He will not be mocked.  So He will do just what He says He will do and His Word will not be found contrary to it's self.  A lot of times we wonder why we aren't blessed when we are doing all we can to live Holy, not remembering that we have cursed ourselves with our tongue by saying something contrary to the blessing.  Or we've cursed ourselves by not giving our tithes and offering faithfully.  Or we have some forgiveness that we are carrying around that we should have released to someone who wronged us.  Blessings and curses depend on us.  So let the church say Amen!!!  Believe God's Word, obey God's Word, and receive the blessings from God's Word.  No we won't get it right all the time, but His grace is sufficient and He is a forgiving God.  Amen!!!

Now He's a Young Man!!

This is my Handsome, and at some point in life you have to let those only begotten sons grow.  You teach them what thus says the Lord, and help them for a little while but then the Lord tells you "Now He's a Young Man" that doesn't mean stop praying and believing God for them but it's time that you stop getting uptight because he isn't doing things the way you want him to.  I have to believe that he understands that when he was a child it was okay to talk and think like a child and even understand as a child, but now he's a man he must put away childish ways. (1Cor. 13:11) You have done all that you can do as a single mother to raise him up, and he's going to make mistakes, but love him anyways.  You have trained him up in the way that he should go and it's in him.  So relax, and thank God that "Now He's a Young Man" because some didn't make it as far as he did.  Thank God for the things that he is not doing which makes him blessed, and thank God that you can pray about the things he is doing which brings the curse.  Pray that he remembers what he has been taught concerning all things.  Love you Handsome.

A Docile Spirit....

Can help you in life.  A teachable spirit is a humble spirit. 1 Pet 5:5>Young folks listen to old folks.  Be humble with each other, for God opposes the proud, the ones who won't listen to teaching but gives grace to the humble.  Prov. 12:1 Whoever loves to be taught is smart, he who hates being taught is stupid. This is the BYT version but look it up for yourself.

If you refuse to be taught, you are stupid, that's the Word people.  We often get advice (teaching) from someone who has been through what we are going through or something we may be about to go through.  But we don't listen if we don't have A Docile Spirit.  We think we know everything, can't nobody tell us nothing and then we do what we are advised not to do and look stupid.  Well guess what, because we hated instruction, we are stupid.

Let's listen to Godly instruction and learn from it so that we may be blessed from having a Docile Spirit and not a prideful one.

Meek Not Weak, Don't get it twisted...

To be meek is to be humble, and sometimes people take your meekness for a weakness.  What happens when that happens?  Either we are mature enough to know that we must just pray for them and remain gentle, or we aren't mature enough and go off the deep end.  If we snap, crackle, and pop we probably aren't meek just yet so repent and keep trying.  It seems like the harder you try to be meek, the more buttons people push, and you try to walk in love, and let your light so shine and they just keep on until you say look I'm Meek Not Weak, Don't get it twisted and just as you begin to go off the spirit of meekness overwhelms you and the Holy Spirit says don't forget that Romans 12:19 says >Don't take revenge, my dear friends, but  leave room for God's wrath for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.  No matter what we must continue in meekness.  The bible says that the meek inherit the earth...they shall have a state of mind here on earth and have peace and happiness and not be overtaken by the worries here on earth.  So since God has got our back, it's okay for people to get it twisted, just humbly pray for them because they must not know that you are God's anointed.  Be blessed my friend.

Don't Give Up on Your Dreams, Patiently Wait....

For God.  Sometimes it seems like everybody is being blessed but me.  I try to make sure I stay humble and not begin to act like Job and start accusing God of forsaking me.  I try to make sure I don't get jealous that someone that could care less about God seems to be blessed beyond measure.  I do make sure I repent for both those things when I find myself even thinking wrong, and I do hurry up and pull out my Basic Instruction Before Leaving Earth to help me get through it and it never let's me down.  Psalm 37: 1-7 is a good passage of scripture to read if you fall short in this area.  Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.  For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.  Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.  And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.  Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.  God wants us to know that we shouldn't get upset because wicked people seem blessed, it's not from God so it will be cut short.  God's blessings are forever.  We should trust in Him alone, walk in His ways, and wait patiently for Him and He will give us our desires, because our desire will be His.  He's going to make it happen.  So Don't Give Up on Your Dreams, Patiently Wait on God.

Can You Handle a Purging?

Do we really want to be purged by God?  I have heard people of God say that and even try to encourage new born again believers to ask God to purge them, without explaining what it means.  Sounds painful, it is painful.  If you don't mean it, I advise you not to ask for it.  Oh yeah it's a good thing and God's word says He will not withhold any good thing from us (Prov 3:27).  The definition of purge is to rid of whatever is impure or undesirable; to cleanse; to purify.  From a disgusting point of view; when we go to the restroom to release waste, it's kind of painful. But once it's all over, we feel so much better.  God will allow you to see what's really going on inside of you, and allow ways for you to get free from the mess.  It really takes a person that can handle getting their toes stepped on by the Word of God and not getting an attitude.  If you still get mad at your Pastor when he/she is only preaching Truth, you ain't ready.  If every time you turn around you're in some mess, and ALWAYS think you are RIGHT, you ain't ready.  Don't get me wrong now, you need a purging, but Can You Handle a Purging?  When you get sick and tired of running this race and not going anywhere, and want to be 100% sold out for God and about His business, then you Can Handle a Purging.  I'm ready.

My Ups Outweigh My Downs

As I think back over my life, and what I am going through right now I must say "My Ups Outweigh My Downs".  I could complain all day everyday, but all I would be doing then is speaking contrary to God's word.  No matter what I have been through or am going through God's Word says I win.  Jesus won the fight, He has the keys of hell and death (Rev. 1:18).  Matt 28:18 says that all power belongs to Jesus, Romans 8:17 says I am a joint heir with Christ, so through Him I have power.  That power reminds me that "My Ups Outweigh My Downs".
Yes I became pregnant as a teen, and that was wrong but praise God for Andrea, I don'te believe that I could have asked for a more precious gift.
Yes my marriage ended after 14 years, but I've learned how to be a better wife and praise God for Devonte'. Jurnee, and Iyana.
Yes I am working two jobs trying to make ends meet, but praise God I have a job and I am learning more and more each day to obey His Word and depend on Him.
Yes my liver had 2 mass on it and I had to undergo a major 7 hour surgery and now I have this big ugly scar on my stomach, but praise God I am alive.  My scar is my reminder that Jesus was there with me, it actually is a big J.
Yes I've been dreaming my dream for a long time, but praise God I'm learning to be patient and wait on the Lord.

That Name.....

Jesus...When you have a relationship with Jesus, His name is sufficient for all your needs.  You know that His name is powerful in any situation.  2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)>And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Philippians 2: 9-11 (NKJV)>Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

When you are in a relationship with Jesus, you know His name is the most powerful name to call.  I use to get upset when I saw someones name that is "Jesus", and although it's spelled the same, it most defiantly doesn't mean the same.

Psalm 34:17 (AMP) When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.

John 9:31 (AMP)31We know that God does not listen to sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and a worshiper of Him and does His will, He listens to him.

That Name is totally different depending on who is calling on His name.

Wonderful, Sweet, Saving Jesus, Oh I love the Name of Jesus...I get results when I call that Name of Jesus.

Babies Daddy's....

Why am I going here?  I have to, I spoke with a young lady last night and she has some serious hate in her heart toward her children's dad.  It's hard to not have hate when someone is treating your child wrong.  But 1st I want to say to young ladies, examine who you get involved with; is his daddy good to him?  We cause so much of our own mess by not loving ourselves enough to take the time to get to really know someone before jumping into bed/a relationship with them.  That's what we as baby mama's need to learn to do before we get babies, check him out before we get all caught up.  Eph. 6:4 (MSG)> Fathers, don't exasperate your children by coming down hard on them.  Take them by the hand and lead them in the way of the Master.  Father's should be leading in a Godly direction.  Girl we knew them jokers didn't have no God when we met them, so it kinda falls back on us Baby Mama's too.  Prov.20:7 (NKJV)> The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.  This is for mama and daddy, our children are blessed when we walk upright.  At this point if you have discovered he is not the baby daddy you would want him to be, I'm sure you are considering him your enemy.  So I urge you to read Matthew 5:44 Which tells you to love your enemies, and bless those who curse you do good to your haters, and pray for those who spitefully use you.  And Luke 6:27-28 echos, the entire scripture.  Must be important!!!  Don't allow this to be a stronghold over you which stops you from getting your blessings because you hate him.  Let God be your Babies Daddy, I promise He will bring you restoration as you seek Him first and teach your children to do the same.  I'm praying for you and you pray for me, because I know just where you are right now.

Happy Valentine's Day!!! True Love

John 3:16>For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life.

So I know there isn't a gift that can be given that can compare to the gift that God gave.  Thank You for Your love God.  God wants us to be with Him, that's why He gave Jesus because He wants a relationship with us. His love for us is genuine.  He knew that the only way we would be able to spend time with Him was to give Jesus.

Are you in a relationship?  Are you giving?  God gave us His very best.  Are you giving your very best?  Jesus laid down His life, He gave His very best, His all because His love is pure and true.

If you are in a relationship and not giving, check yourself.  Give from the heart, and give your very best.  Give without expecting anything in return.  That's what God did, that's what Jesus did.  That's the only way to truly love.

Not One Perfect....

Nor Good. Luke 18:19 (NIV) “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.

My friends please don't let the enemy make you feel guilty when you mess up.  Jesus died on the cross so that when we mess up, we can clean it up.  How?  By asking forgiveness and turning from it.

There is Not a Perfect Nor Good person.  We should strive for perfection. (Philippians 3:12)

So don't wait until you're perfect to come to Jesus it will never happen, and if you meet someone that says they are perfect (RUN THE OTHER WAY).  Please don't turn from Jesus if you mess up, just turn from what caused you to mess up.

God loves you, and He is available for you NOW!!!

Idols, Are You Serving One?

I'm sure your answer is no.  I mean who would admit to serving and Idol?  An idol is anything that is more important to you than God, anything that you spend more time with than God, anything that you think about more than God, anything you replace as the source for your needs instead of God.
So that means an idol can be your job, your car, your home, your money, your spouse, your children, your carpet, your clothes, your shoes, and this list can go on and on.
Some have made work more important by over working, too busy to spend anytime with God.  Some have made their car and idol, wash it every other day but your Bible has a layer of dust on it.  What about those beautiful homes that you boast about forgetting to give God the glory for getting you in it.  Need I say anything about money?  Won't give God His 10% for nothing-- you don't believe that part of the Bible.  Spouse and children that you think are better than anybody elses, can't see their fault.  They will find a way to burst your heart open.  I say carpet because I use to flip out because I didn't want people wearing shoes on mine, why it's on the floor.  I still want the kids to take off theirs, but I don't flip out about it anymore.
Listen anything can be made into an idol, so it's important that we're not being ignorant and praising STUFF.

Isaiah 42:8 God says "I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to graven images."(NASB) That means God ain't sharing His throne with nobody or nothing else.  He's worthy that ALL the praise goes to Him.  He let's us know in Philippians 4:19 (NASB) that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  He's got our back and we ain't got to be playing with no idols.  To have an idol causes corruption on yourself, God will destroy you and your idol.  Read Exodus 32 in your spare time, you might need to read it now and repent.  Read Deuteronomy 32, God is serious about not having idol gods, having vanities.  You see it's okay to have everything mentioned above but once  there is an excessive pride in that stuff, that's when the trouble comes.  Be proud of your children, but don't think they're perfect, sho' nuff your spouse got it going on, but they don't need to be put up on a pedestal.  Don't allow anything to put conceit in your heart, because then there's no room for God.

Backslider....Come Home

God is committed to you.  It's important to repent from sins once committed, because if we don't repent from them and we stay in them, we end up a backslider.  Sin puts a wedge between God and His children, and although we will never be sinless we should try our best to sin less.  It's hard to feel God's love when we sin, and it's not that He loves us any less but sin blocks us from feeling His love, yes He hates sin no matter who does it but,  His word says He's married to us, that means committed to us.
Jer. 3:14 (KJV)  Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you...But we have to repent from our sins and turn from them, let them go...
Acts 3:19 (KJV) Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...God says if we return to Him, He will heal our mess
Jer 3:22 (KJV)  Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.
1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  He is able to restore us back to where we should be with Him, He loves us so much and wants us to Come Home.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
There are just a few scriptures here but the Bible has a lot more. It's much needed word for a very special person that needs the true Word of God.  God loves us and doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but the choice is ours and we must decide what's more important.  Righteousness vs. Sin----Heaven vs. Hell, it's up to you where you want to be. I want to make it into the Kingdom.  God please forgive me, and cleanse me of anything that is not pleasing to You.

Compromising Our Place in Heaven....

by not putting to death earthly mess.  Colossians 3:5 says that we should put to death that which is earthly in us: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.  We need to put to death mess that we hide to do.  This is truth that needs to be said, we are headed to Hell if we keep Compromising Our Place in Heaven.  Satan knows that the flesh desires sex, the flesh desires sin, and if this is bothering you it's because those fleshy ears desire a lie.  2 Tim 4:3 tells how a time will come that people won't want to hear the truth, they will rather hear a lie.  Like "I know he's married, but he's almost divorced and his wife wasn't good to him", or "it's okay to buy this stolen stuff because he trying to support his family and he can't find a job" and lastly  "God knows my heart, and I want to pay my tithes but these bill are due, and God don't want my lights off".  People this is all compromising, and then you share it with someone because you want an amen.  God's Word isn't only true when you want it to be, His whole Word is true ALL the time.  Let's stop Compromising Our Place in Heaven.  God will not be mocked, He is an awesome God and His anger toward sin is not to be taken lightly.  We know right from wrong people, let's not put ourselves in compromising situations.  Kill that flesh, it's only Compromising Our Place in Heaven. Pray, fast, study, and seek God He knows it get's tough for us but He makes away of escape (1 Cor. 10:13) so that we don't have to compromise to temptations.  God Help Us!!!

I Got Some Issues....

So thank God for the Holy Spirit.  Yes I am saved (born again), sanctified (set apart for sacred use), and set free (free from sin), but I have some issues that I have to GROW through.  Each day I have to renew my mind, spend more time with God, and make sure I put God first so that I grow spiritually.  I can share this with you because God knows I Got Some Issues.  The word of God tells me in Jeremiah 1:5 that God knew me before I was formed in my mama's womb.  Ps. 139:1-5 reads>(NIV)

1 You have searched me, LORD,
   and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
   you, LORD, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.

So God knows all there is to know, He knows me better than I know me.  He knows all this and still His plan is that I prosper. (Jer. 29:11)  So when I mess up, it's no surprise to God, He already knew it was going to happen.  If I let it beat me down, then I don't grow and it's bound to happen again.  So I must learn from my mess up, release the issues that make me mess up, and go forth in Jesus name.  And if you think you are issue free, you got more issues than me.

Bold As A Lion for....

the Kingdom of God.  God has created me to be bold.  I've always been bold, before I gave my life to Christ I was bold for Satan so now I have to be bold for God  I need to be Bold As A Lion for the Kingdom of God.  I really enjoy witnessing to people about salvation.  I work with a young lady that really puts me to a challenge when it comes to winning her over.  She is always asking questions and she has a lot of doubt, but she keeps me on my toes.  I sometimes wonder if she even listens to any thing I say, but that doesn't stop me.  She told me that she doesn't want to be "good" only to die and find out there is no heaven or hell, and I told her what I am sure every true child of God would have told her.  I would rather live right, die and find out it isn't a heaven than to live a sinful life die and find out there is a hell.  She sometimes ask some stuff that I have to search for deep within because I can't always pull out the Bible, and thank God for the Holy Spirit.  There are times when it's more than just her and it feels like I am being ganged up on spiritually, but I can't back down I must be Bold As A Lion for the Kingdom of God through my witnessing.  Proverbs 28:1
New Living Translation (©2007)
The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions.
Study long, pray hard, and fight a good fight as you win souls into the Kingdom of God.

Oh yeah she gave me a card one day that said "thank you for being my walking Bible", yeah that's rewarding to know that you are getting through to someone and heading someone to the Kingdom, even if I've only planted, God will send the water for growth.

Biceps and Triceps....

Abs & Legs OH MY....  So ladies, this one is strictly for us.  I have an associate that really is a nice guy, and he isn't married and just so dog gone handsome and fine.  Well I am trying to figure out a way to not think about this man other than a friend.  We don't have much contact because he lives in another state, and I am really glad.  I had to get into the Word of God and stop my mind from going where it should not go.  Galatians 5:16 (NLV)>I say this to you: Let the Holy Spirit lead you in each step.  Then you will not please your sinful old selves.  This old self is sinful, and my mind wants to keep reminding me of that.  I know the man is in another state, but if I allow my eyes to lust after him I could open up some doors better left shut.  So I keep reading and 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (NLV)>God wants you to be holy.  You must keep away from sex sins.  God wants each of you to use his body in the right way by keeping it holy and by respecting it.  You should not use it to please your own desires like the people who do not know God.  This sounds like Paul was speaking to church folk, so don't judge me.  Then Peter speaks to the beloved saints, and lets them know in 1 Peter 2:11 that there real home isn't here on earth.  We are strangers here.  Peter ask the beloved to keep away from all the sinful desires of the flesh.  These things fight to get hold of your soul.  Romans 12:2 says to renew your mind.  The flesh and an UN renewed mind is nothing to play with, so it's okay to see a fine brother and think he's fine or handsome.  But once those biceps, triceps, abs, and legs make you say OH MY...you may want to check yourself and get in the Word and make sure you aren't headed for destruction.  Just keeping it real...

Trust....

But Verify....(I saw this on a sign in my city)What did Ronald Reagan mean when he quoted this?  Is this a biblical quote?  I'm going to say yes.  For me it is anyways that way I'm not wrong.  There are many promises in the Bible that we hear about at church, and if you have a true Word of God Pastor like me then you hear a lot about the promises of God.  But if you don't know the Bible for yourself, if you don't verify, how can you trust?  Jeremiah 17:5> This is what the Lord says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord."  So if you have a Pastor like mine, he/she wants you to not put your trust in them but search the word for yourself, so your faith can grow, so your trust can be in God.  Romans 10:17 (KJV) Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.  Us verifying the word, trying the word is okay with God.  Malachi 3:10 (NIV) Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  Test me in this, "says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of Heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."  God wants us to confirm, make sure, try His word and see that it's true.  Spend time in His Word so that our faith will grow.  So trust...but verify.

What Goes Around.....

Comes Around.  You Reap What You Sow!!!  How many times have you heard that, and people always seem to say it when something is wrong, but there is good in this also.  God's word is so real, and it stands.  Galatians 6:7-8 KJV reads: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.  For what ever measures we take, those same measures shall return to us.  Be honest, have you ever did something you know was wrong to someone and then found yourself in that same mess.  You sow good you get good, you sow evil you get evil.  So we play a signification roll in what we reap.  If every morning we would stop and think about this, we would sow some different seeds.  God is not mocked, either way if I am sowing good or bad His word stands true, I'm gone get it back.  So love more, smile more, give more, praise more, and trust more.  And because you know God's word is true, anticipate the return.  Hallelujah I'm all excited just thinking about it now.

Unconditionally Love the one who wrong you.....

That's tough right?  I know it is.  Have you ever had someone that is just doing you wrong.  Maybe your mother, father, sibling, baby mama, baby daddy, ex wife or ex husband.  Someone that you must have communication with, not just an old friend that you may never see again.  Well that person comes and ask you for prayer, or just wants to talk to you.  Something that we should be doing for them anyways according to Luke 6:28 (New International Version (©1984) bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.)
We are to be Christ like so that means we should unconditionally love the one who wrong us.  Jesus laid down His life for us yet we are so unfaithful. (1 John 3:16-18 ESV reads:  By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.  But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?  Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.).  I'm not saying we should die for someone, or even be walked over by someone.  But we need to put away our foolish stinking thinking and look beyond their faults and see their need.  They need forgiveness, and some may need salvation.  God expects us to show and demonstrate love, not only with our mouth but help a brother, sister, mother, father, or even an ex spouse in deed. And with the love and kindness in our deed we can draw them into the kingdom of God. (Jer. 31:3)  It might take some time and we may not even see them once it happens, but they need you and don't forget someone had to draw you too.

Angie, thank you!!!

This goes out to my friend Angie.  We went to school and graduated together and we really haven't been in communication with one another at all.  But I saw her at my job and got her phone number and after about a month I finally called her.  Well she and I talked and realized that we both love Jesus and have grown into mature women of God.  Oh boy have we come a long way.  Anyways Angie said something that was very encouraging to me, something that really made me realize that I need to get my act together.  She told me that she use to log on the social network tool just to read my blogs daily.  She said when she needed encouraging she would go on knowing that she would receive a word from God.  She asked me to please don't stop because she looks forward to the blogs.  I am a minister for God and when I started this I was on fire, making it my business to share God's word. Could it be that I had positioned myself in a backsliding position?  Have I given up on being the witness that God wants me to be?  God forgive me and bless my dear friend Angie.  Thank you Angie, for being your "Sistahs Keeper" and please be a thorn in my side.  I need you....God Bless.

SISTAH, You're a Diamond In the Rough.....

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.) Prov. 31:10
Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Do you know your worth?  I sometimes get in a funk and wonder why I even try sometimes.  It seems like I always miss the mark.  Things happen that I should be spiritually mature enough to understand or figure out and I mess it up.  I seem to mess up spiritually, physically, and emotionally (if that is even possible)  I feel like giving up sometimes. In tears, ready to step down and then the Spirit of the Lord gently whispers to me "SISTAH, You're a Diamond In the Rough".  The devil wants you to feel like you are nothing, that what you do is all in vain like nobody loves you.  But snap out of it and realize that just like a diamond, you're kinda rough around the edges and things don't look good to you or even others but once God cuts away the irregularities and polishes you all up, then you and others will see the beautiful and precious valuable person that God has created you to be.  It takes work to get to that beauty, a diamond doesn't start out as the beautiful gems that we see in the stores.  They start out looking like a big ugly cloudy rock, oh but once the diamond cutter cuts all that stuff away, and shines it up...viola-it's beautiful and valuable.  So don't give up, let God cut off the stuff that needs to be taken away and let Him polish you up.  Just like in the physical realm a cut hurts, so the more stuff needing cutting the more painful it will be, but once it's done your value will shine.  Now if you are getting this to God be the glory, but this is for me.  The pain that I feel because I am being chastised or because I am learning or growing is for my own good.  To some it may seem small, but because Satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (NIV 1 Pet. 5:8) I gotta be alert and don't get caught up in feelings.  Thank you Holy Spirit, I love You.  Have a Jesus filled day...

Kids These Days Are Street Wise YOUNG!!!

Luke 16:8

New Life Version (NLV)
8 Then the rich man said that this sinful boss had been wise to plan for himself for the days ahead. For the people of the world are wiser in their day than the children of light.

Some of our kids are so street smart that if we don't stop being so heavenly minded, we won't be any earthly good for them because they will outwit us.

Andrea (my 1st born) has a friend that has twin girls in kindergarten and yesterday they decided that they would switch classes.  They were not discovered until half way through the day, when one of the teachers called the little smart twin to her desk to talk to her and discovered the mark on her face wasn't there.

Now I've met these little beauties and they are indeed a handful and I knew they were smart, but I had no idea they were this intelligent.

I have a little niece myself that is only 4 and on Christmas her mom told me she opened her little black cabbage patch doll and commented "Santa must not of read my letter".  And I gave her some socks and she opened the box and told me "I'm a size 5".  What....Too Smart, is that even possible.

We as parents better raise these children the way God says to raise them and open our natural eyes as well as our spiritual eyes so that we can keep up with what's going on.  Because a weak parent is no match with a Street Wise kid.

2012 and still trusting God!!!

Hello everyone, it's been a while I know and I must say that I have to repent because I had given up on my writing and all my situations.  I guess I had given up on believing that God's promises are "yes and amen".  I can't be discouraged and I must not faint.  I sin when I doubt.  My pastor was speaking from Matt. 17 about "Mustard seed faith" and the way he explained it really touched my spirit.  Yes mustard seeds are small so little faith is all we need, but mustard seeds are also pure, and our faith without doubt is pure faith.  That's the mustard seed faith that I need to make sure I keep trusting God that He will open the right doors and close the right doors.  That even though His time is not my time, keep trusting that He is in control.  I have got to know that ain't no mountains moving while I have doubt in my heart.  Well it's 2012 and I am still trusting God.  I'm not perfect, and I let flesh get in the way a little but I'm back on the right track.  Please pray for me as I will for you.  God loves you and so do I.  I pray you have a Happy, Holy New Year.
